Is that an actual Sierra XR4i or just a pretender?

I saw it while I was in Warsaw today, and pretty much went “Huh, cool”. Did they even make them in this body style? Sierras are pretty damn rare as it is, so I’m kinda hoping this one is the real deal. Also, old plates FTW.

EDIT: I just noticed there’s actually a 2nd Sierra in this pic, and I just called them rare so I feel like a right twit. They really are rare tho, believe me! :P

AFAIK it never came as a four door. Also; no twin wing, no two tone bodywork and it doesn’t seem to have ‘the sticker’.

Kinja'd!!!

I found one that’s pretty much identical, down to the blue stripe. Same spoiler too.

Also, this random forum thread is making me think that 5dr XR4is were something that existed.

Can’t really tell from here, they did an XR4X4 in that body style with either the 2.0 twin cam or the V6 (my old house mate bought one as a cheap temp car when his BMW got stolen and ended up keeping it a while cos it was such a nice car!).

Yep you’re definitely right. From Wikipedia, ‘The XR4i also made a reappearance (as a badging exercise) in 5-door form but with the DOHC 2.0 engine instead of the V6.’

Whatever it means by badging exercise? I assume all show and no go.

Per Wiki:

The XR4i also made a reappearance (as a badging exercise) in 5-door form but with the DOHC 2.0 engine instead of the V6.
